Description
The story behind this piece
The caduceus brooch came from wanting something more formal and traditional than the stethoscope pieces, something with the weight of history behind it. The caduceus has meant medicine for centuries and I wanted to make a version where the name wasn't just attached to that history but was genuinely part of it. When the name runs through the centre of the caduceus it's not decorating the symbol, it's completing it.
For the white coat moment and every moment after.
The caduceus is one of the oldest symbols in medicine. Wings, staff, serpents, it has represented healing, care and the medical profession for centuries. Worn on a lapel, pinned to a white coat, it says everything about who you are and what you've chosen to do without a single word.
This brooch goes one step further. Your name is incorporated directly into the design, woven through the centre of the caduceus as part of the piece itself, not engraved onto a separate bar as an afterthought. The name and the symbol are one thing. Remove the name and the design is incomplete. That's what makes this a custom piece rather than an engraveable one, and why every single brooch takes 2-3 weeks to make.
Pin it to your white coat on your first day. Wear it to your graduation ceremony. Give it to the doctor, nurse, physician associate, pharmacist or healthcare professional in your life who has earned every letter of their name.
Available in any language and any script: English, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi (Gurmukhi), Tamil, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam and more. A name in Arabic script woven through a caduceus is something that has never existed before yours is made. Simply leave your chosen name at checkout in the language you'd like. If you need help with a translation or want to see how your name looks in a particular script, email us at hello@artbyzakia.com before ordering.
Suits every role in healthcare. Doctors, nurses, physician associates, pharmacists, midwives, paramedics, radiographers, healthcare researchers, anyone whose career is built around care and healing. The caduceus belongs to all of them.
